The main clinic barn at Monocacy Equine is connected to the
administration office, the laboratory, the pharmacy and the doctors
offices.
It provides an examination area complete with a horse stock and a
digital radiograph area. The clinic provides an excellent facility
for radiology - it has concrete level flooring and the digital
images can be immediately viewed.
The main clinic has excellent natural lighting for physical
examinations - the clinic can be darkened for eye examinations. The
clinic can accommodate most minor standing surgeries and some foal
surgeries requiring the foal to be laid down. Laser surgeries are
often performed in the MEVA clinic.
The main clinic can be monitored through connecting observation
windows enabling the staff to keep an eye on all in-patient horses.
The new
annex to the main clinic has four stalls. Three regular stalls can accommodate out-patient horses and mares who
are admitted for breeding - there is also an
isolation stall for
critical cases.
All the stalls are deeply bedded with straw, perfect for recent
surgery cases and castrations.
