Monocacy Equine Clinic in Maryland

The main clinic barn at Monocacy Equine is connected to the office, the laboratory, the pharmacy and the doctors’ offices.  It provides an exam area complete with a stock and work area. The clinic provides an excellent facility for lameness workups.  It has level flooring and also has five critical care stalls for medical cases.  We can accommodate most minor standing surgeries.

We also have an all weather arena with sand, bluestone and rubber footing which is perfect for performing lameness exams.

Monocacy Equines laboratory is fully equipped to run most lab work in house:

• Complete Blood Count (CBC)
• Chemistry
• Electrolytes
• Fibrinogen
• Cytology
• Culture & Sensitivity
• Fecal Floatation & Egg Count
• Urinalysis

Other specialized lab work is out-sourced.

Pharmacy

MEVA keeps informed of the newest advances in pharmaceuticals by working closely with industry representatives.  The MEVA pharmacy provides clients with medications provided there is a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship.  Our pharmacy maintains an inventory of prescription medications and can custom order many hard-to-find items if needed for a specific problem.
